What is an intensive feeding program

The Intensive Feeding Program at Montclair Speech Therapy supports children and their support team with more complex or severe pediatric feeding disorders. Children enrolled in the intensive feeding program are attending for longer than our typical 30 minute sessions and are in attendance daily for 3 hours during the week. During the program children will be learning at a greater intensity the same steps to eating with the support of our speech, occupational, and behavioral therapists.

Intensive Feeding Program FAQs

Each program is fully individualized, the duration of the intensive program will be based on patient and family goals, as well as progression within the program.

Our team will help the child have multiple opportunities to come to the tables to practice their skill with their learning foods.

Consider an Intensive Feeding Program if…

  1. Falling off their personal growth chart and/or the medical team is concerned with their growth
  2. Child has less than 10 foods that they feel safe with
  1. Child has a feeding tube
  2. If mealtimes have become the most stressful part of your day
